
The Vermont Council of Deliberation is the governing body over all Scottish Rite Valleys and activities in the state of Vermont. The Council does hereby swear true allegiance and fealty to the Supreme Council of Sovereign Grand Inspectors General of the Thirty-third and last degree of the A.A.S.R. of Freemasonry for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America, setting at its Grand East in the city of Lexington, MA, of which the Illustrious John William McNaughton, 33°, is Sovereign Grand Commander and will support its Constitutions, Statutes, Orders and Decrees.
Each of the 15 states within the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction has an Active Member designated as a "Deputy," who is the executive officer for the Rite within his state. He is supported by the remaining Active Members of the state. There is at least one Active Member in addition to the Deputy in each state. Some states have as many as five Active Members.

Ill. Eric Ginette, 33°, was born in Rochester, N.Y. on August 27, 1946, to Warren and Evelyn Ginette. He was educated in the Webster school system and continued his education at Merritt College in Oakland, CA, and at the University of California at Berkeley.
Eric returned back East in 1971, settling in the small town of Cabot, Vermont. He opened a wood cabinet shop specializing in custom furniture, which in a few years evolved into a specialty shop making Windsor and Shaker style chairs.
On March 6, 1980, he was joined in matrimony with Lisa M. Labman.
Eric joined his local Lodge and was raised on August 27, 1994 in Green Mountain Lodge #68 in Cabot. He served as Worshipful Master in 1999. He also joined Meridian Sun Lodge #20 in Craftsbury, VT, and the Vermont Lodge of Research #110, and has also served as Worshipful Master in these Lodges. In 2005 Eric was made chairman of the Education Committee by the Grand Lodge of Vermont, and created the Lodge Education Officer system of Masonic education in the State. In June 2009 he was appointed Grand Historian for Vermont by MWGM Thomas Johnston.
Brother Eric joined the York Rite of Freemasonry in March 2002, and was exalted in Granite Chapter #26 RAM in Barre, VT. He was greeted in Barre Council #22 in April 2002, and received the degrees of Chivalric Masonry in St. Aldemar Commandery #11 K.T. in December 2002. He is a Past High Priest of his Chapter and Past Thrice Illustrious Master of his Council. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Metal by General Grand Chapter, RAM, in June 2004. He was invited to join St. Helena Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine in March 2004; and became a member of Green Mountain York Rite College #139 of the York Rite Sovereign College of North America in April, 2006, and was elected Pre-Eminent Governor of this Body in 2009. He has served as Grand Lecturer for the Grand Chapter of Vermont and as Grand Historian for the VT Grand Chapter, Grand Council and for the Grand Commandery of VT, K.T.
Eric is also a member of Mt. Sinai Shrine #3 A.A.O.N.M.S. in Montpelier, Vermont.
He continued his Masonic education by petitioning the Valley of Montpelier, AASR, receiving the 32° in April of 1998. He became Secretary of the Valley and Thrice Potent Master of the Lodge in 2003, Most Wise Master of the Chapter in 2004 and Sovereign Prince of the Council in 2005.
He was created a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33°, in Grand Rapids on August 30, 2005, and was crowned an Active member in Chicago on August 29, 2006. Upon retirement of the State Deputy Frederick Jackson, Eric was made Deputy for Vermont in August 2008 at the annual session of the Supreme Council in Providence, R.I. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the 32˚ Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc; and is on several committees of the Supreme Council AASR, NMJ. |
