The Children’s Learning Center program is a local miracle. Since it opened, children for whom reading was a mystery because of dyslexia, have literally gone from despair to honors grades. The smiles on their faces and the relief in their parents’ eyes tell you that our Center is providing the tools that will help these children succeed — all at no cost.
Since 1994, the Learning Centers, sponsored by Scottish Rite Masons, have helped
thousands of children. Additionally, hundreds of teachers have received free
training to provide specialized tutoring to dyslexic children. This training
helps them reach many more students in their classrooms. Without the Learning
Center program, thousands of children would face discouragement and
hopelessness.

The Builders Council
Just as masons of old laid a cornerstone to begin the building of a great palace; the ability to read is the foundation of each child’s future. It provides the base upon which all learning depends.
Membership in the Builders Council means that you have made a commitment to
assure that the Learning Center will continue to help children with dyslexia
today and for years to come.
Ways to Join
Membership in the Builders Council requires a commitment of at least $10,000 to the Board Restricted Fund of your Learning Center. It may be made using one of the following methods:
• Making a pledge of cash over a
period of up to 10 years
• Specifying a bequest to the
Learning Center
• Establishing an annuity or trust
through the Learning Center
How a Tie and Scarf can Change
the World
Every member of the Builders Council receives a
commemorative green tie and scarf. The teddy bear pattern represents the
Learning Center. Wearing it reminds everyone that there are children needlessly
suffering because of their dyslexia and that the Learning Center program is here
to help.
Every child is a seed of hope that may blossom into a bright future. Your membership in the Builders Council assures that children with dyslexia will enjoy the same opportunities that all children deserve.
